mu hubby  got some drops off the doctors... this is quite common because of the high amounts of antibiotics used ..can't think of the name but he said they were very refreshing and tasted like almonds had to go to hospital for something else a doctor their said to ask gp for prescription and gp knew exactly which one the other doc said so must be common medicine wasn't canestan also get a very soft baby toothbrush and gently clean tongue and mouth every couple of hours just with water I would check about using any mouthwash first as some may aggravate it worse....
