My mum dying of Breast cancer

My mum is dying of Breast cancer she now can't eat don't drink a lot only tiny bit  she in her bed all the time now her mouth gets dry now tip of her toung is sore she can't sollow very well says her meds tablet she takes fells siting not going down her legs heal gets painfully gets out of breath doing eny thing  it's killing me seeing her like that  we trying to get her to take her  licqued meds got meds for dry mouth she take it and then refuse to take it when she need to say it's not helping she says to the dr I am ok and because she says that they told us to encourage her to keep takeing her meds  what do we do  Tina

    So sorry to hear about your mum. I understand, my dad has stage 4 lung cancer that has metastasised to his other lung, bones and lymph nodes. He too, like your mother, struggled to eat and drink and was losing weight each week. However, his doctor prescribed him steroids and he's perked up a lot and they seem to be helping with the eating problem which is fantastic! Though, I've been told this is only a short term solution. Has your mum been offered steroids? If she hasn't, maybe it's worth mentioning to her doctor that she's really struggling to eat and drink and express your concerns, they are always willing to help.     Hiya no she not been offered steroids  my mum refused to take lots of meds she gets angry. When we encourage her to take them   when we ask her to take them and I know she is in pain  only God can help her now  because no one understands  when we tell them because my mum says to them she is ok  and not got pain so  we see her in pain

    Thank you for your response today we got the G p out as my mum mouth is sore and dry g p gave her gel he said she got thrsh in her mouth she has not eaten for 2 days no only had very little water we encouraged her to take her licqued pain med 2 X today she was geting angrey  about it but took it  she had a wee sleep and hop she has a good sleep to night thank you Tina X
