Hello, my husband had a brain tumour in 2014 which he found by having a bump on the head at work he didnt think much more about having the bump on head until several weeks later when he found he couldnt read very well , he also started getting confused and forgetting things so he went to his GP and they thought he had concussion but the doctor sent him for a MRI just to check . He was made reduntent from work at the end of August 2014 and on the 1st Sept 2014 he was told he had a brain tumour. After loads of hospital appointments he had the tumour removed at Kings in London then went on to have Radiotherapy every day for 7 weeks.this was a hemangiopericytoma to cut the story short all went well and his reading started to come back etc, Then this year in Jan he had his usual MRI and all was ok but within 6 weeks the usual problems started reading was going again memory was poor confussion all started again so I managed to get a early MRI and once again another tumour but this time it was a GBM grade 4 they could not operate due to where it is plus couldnt have Radiotherphy as it was within two years since he had it so he was put onto PVC chemo and is about to have treatment 4 out of 6 , he is weak cant walk far, sleeps most of the day, memory is terrible he cant get a simple meal with out help as he forgets where plates cups food is kept even has been unable to find the fridge at times he seems to know what he wants he just cant remember where things are kept.He has trouble finding where or which draw items of clothing are, he gets confussed cant operate tv control he can just about hold a conversation with people but often repeats himself and gets muddled he has also often forgotten family members and I have to help him . I know his prognosis was poor 3 months without treatment ,6-9 with and it is nw 6-7 months since we were told . I feel the chemo is not working as he is getting worse we are due to see doctor on the 22nd Aug for MRI results, does anyone know what they do if the chemo is not working and what help he might be able to get,? if we are told its not good news how can I help him as he forgets and if he has to make a choice in his treatment will he understand ? has anyone else been through this ...
