My second post on the forum which is initially news of my partner in remission for leukemia after nine months after a roller coaster, testing period for us both. Obviously chuffed for that.

Currently though things are a little mixed up. She has just been woken up from sedation from what is thought to be a massive infection. The problem is though where it has come from and why something just doesn't feel right to me about the whole situation...

A lot had gone on so far so.I'll try and keep it light.

We Came in on Wednesday for a routene blood transfusion for my partners ALL, she was feeling good and only one week away from maintenance although neutropenic from her last treatment. We sat down and were greeted. Bloods were brought over and within 15 minutes of her first bag she started violently shivering, temperature started spiking and her blood pressure started dropping. Bag was stopped and at some point later in the day collapsed and I though I had lost her. Kidneys started failing and within the sameday she was admitted to icu and put on life support with kidney dialysis.

No bugs have been grown from what they thought was an infection in her Hickman line and other cultures are negative. Automatically my attention has turned to this bag of blood.

Which I am now being told they can't find but is highly unlikely that it's related. I am now suspicious that this blood has impacted my partners life either being contaminated or possibly wrong blood type.

My partner is now coming round from sedation but I worry so much that she's on a knife edge.
