Wife has Stage 4B Cancer

Hello,

My name is William. 18 months ago my wife found a tumor in her left breast while laying down in bed. She had lumpectomy surgery and decided to use Proton Radiation Treatment. Unfortunately, our insurance denied treatment and we appealed their decision. When we received their denial once again we found out it was too late for her to have traditional radiation. A year later, she had three tumors appear in the same breast. Within three months, the cancer had spread to her bone, lung, sternum, the other breast and now her lympnode system. The doctor told us that she has alot less than a year. She is having trouble retaining food without getting sick.

It would be nice to talk with other people and get their insight.

  • Good morning William,

Welcome to Cancer Chat and I'm sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis and that she's struggling with her diet at the moment.

Have you mentioned this problem to her Dr? I wonder if there is something they may be able to give her to help with the sickness or to give you both some advice about her diet. It might be worth keeping a note to see if there are any particular foods that make the problem worse.

We do have a team of nurses here at Cancer Research UK and if you think it might help to talk to one of them about your wife's diet then you can post a question in our Ask the Nurses topic area.

I'm sure that some of the regular members of the community will be along soon to say Hi! and to add their words of support and advice. Please do keep in touch Feel free to post asking questions or simply to offload.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
