Lung cancer

Hi, my dad has been diagnosed with stage 4 terminal lung cancer and has one treatment of chemotherapy. We suspect he now has cachlexia and due to various blood clots, chest infection etc we fear we will soon get the news from oncology there is nothing else they can do. I've been looking for alternative treatments for cachlexia and have found it is really hard to reverse - however I have read that taking supplements such as d ribose and magnesium can help break down the lactic acid I was just wandering if anyone has experienced anything similar and if they used alternative medicine and found it helped. Thanks x
