Hi everyone

My husband diagnosed lung cancer with mets in lymph node in neck he had 3 rounds of chemo which he tolerated ok.was due to start round 4 this week but the lump in his neck more than doubled in size overnight he now in hospital.The doctors have started him on antibiotic drip but they don't seem to know what it is ?INFECTION or mumps or abcess.Has anyone esle had this hhappen.Thankyou for reading

    I'm afraid I can help with experience but obviously when someone is on chemotherapy their immune system is often compromised so infections are a serious risk. I'd imagine that they considr that there is a serious risk that it's an infection and that's why they've taken him in to give him some heavy duty antibiotics in case it turns out to be an infection.

    Thankyou so much for your reply. Went for ultrasound yesterday they think its abscess or hematoma havingMRI today as you say he been given heavy duty antibiotics.hopefully we will see him feeling a bit better soon.
