Carers worries

My husband has oesophageal cancer,  lung cancer and a lesion in his Iliac bone. He was in recovery ftom throat cancer when he became more ill. After a week in hospital he was diagnosed with all the above.  It's too far jones so no cure. He has just started chemo to try to reduce the tumor in oesophagus as that is the most life threatening to hive him better quality of life.  Help  him to eat more as he is on Ensure at the moment.

The emotions we have gone through as a family are indescribable.  He is strong can't just gets on with it. It's me and the girls that have fallen apart at times and support each other.  Taking day at a time.  My heart goes out to all of you out there who are going through this.

  • Hi Paulaanne

Welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear about your husband's cancer. It can be such an emotional time for a family but I'm glad to hear that you and your girls are supporting each other through this difficult time.

    Kirsty

  • Hello Paulaanne, sorry for your very difficult time. My partner was diagnosed with leukaemia four years ago, he is in remission and doing better now but i know that it can be so hard looking after someone who is ill. I am my partner's full time carer and some days i find it so stressful and wonder how anyone can cope but we pull through it. You and your girls have every right to fall apart, it's normal. As long as you are always there for each other i'm sure you will be okay. If you need to talk to anyone my username is neversaynever and i would happily talk to you. x
