Hi Dawn, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. This seems to have left you in a very confusing situation since obviously, you and your Mom had never discussed the possiblity that something like this could happen. From what you said, the doctors must have had a discussion with your Mom before she was so heavily medicated, about what her wishes are regarding DNR. I believe they have to go on that, unless she would have named someone to have Power of Attorney such as yourself, or a Personal Directive which would have been made by her previously. Are you aware that either of these documents exist?

You weren't very clear in your message about other family members there with you. What about your Dad or any sibblings? I hope you have someone there to support you through this difficult time. Perhaps if you call the nurses here on the forum, they may be able to offer you some advice on this.
