  • Hi Deb, welcome to the forum and it is unfortunate that coming to this forum means that you and/or someone you love has cancer. I am so sorry to hear about your husband being diagnosed. There are so many unknowns with this terrible disease that quite often doctors can't predict how much time a person has left before this disease takes them. I have been down this road with several members of my family and so many friends that I sometimes wonder what is going on that it seems like an epidemic. When a loved one has been through as much treatment as possible and none of it helps, that impending death takes on a life of its' own and is such a lonely road, not only for the patient, but also for loved ones on that journey with him/her. There is no way to prepare for this, even if you have some idea of timelines. About the best advice I would give would be to cherish as much time as possible with your loved one and doing things that he is able to do. You also need to take care of yourself during this time. You don't say if you have family or close friends near who can support you and your husband through this difficult time. If you do, let them help in whatever way they can.

Comeing on here to the forum was a good choice. People on here understand what you're going through and many of us have been there. Writing down your thoughts and fears at this time will provide you with a release for those emotions, so do that and connect with others on here who know and understand how hard this is for you.

Take care. and sending you hugs.
