Patient Assistance Programme?

Hi Every one,

Hello to everyone and best wishes for speedy recovery whoever is fighting with Monster. My question was that any one knows patient Assistance programme for buying medicine. My brother got diagnosed in 2013 with NSCLC IV Adenocarcinoma with ALK plus, he had chemo's and Xalkori and now chemo stop working and Oncologist is suggesting Zykadia by Novartis or Nivolumab by BMS and both medicine are nearly £6000 worth per month which is completely out of reach as my brother is in Pakistan and no insurance cover this disease in Pakistan plus whatever treatment we had awe paid for it and now these both medicine not available in Pakistan and we can hardly afford £800 or max £1000 month. If you know any organisation who help in buying medicine I would be great full to you. It is urgent as he got admitted and he is in pain as other chemo stop working. Any information would be very helpful. Thank you

  • Hi ahm121

We are very sorry to learn about your brother's situation.

Sadly we do not know of any organisation that can help with buying medicine, as we are based in the UK which has a very different medical system.

We have a list of overseas cancer organisations here, though unfortunately Pakistan is not listed. The closest one to you maybe India, which we understand is far from ideal.

This is a friendly community of people affected by cancer, so we hope you will feel able to come here to talk, anytime you need support.

Best wishes to you and your family at this difficult time.
