What to buy someone with cancer ??

Thinking this could be our last Christmas. .....does anyone have any suggestions of what to buy my Mum who's cancer has just recently spread....things aren't looking too good :/   I have bought all the "normal" things I usually get her to keep it normal but wanted something special to help her on this journey or something like that.     Thanks in advance.

  • Hi, I am in your Mum's situation.  Time is a lovely gift to give your Mum - a special night out together, a weekend away, afternoon tea - that type of thing.  No doubt your Mum will love time spent with you rather than a gift.  Have a good Christmas.  Much love x

  • Hi Koopmanclan

Max is so right, your company is the best gift that you can give your mum. It is the thing I would value most, if you must give a physical gift a book or CD or DVD are good choices. Kim

  • Max and Kim are right - time, just sitting and chatting over a coffee.  Best thing in the world.

  • Sorry to hear of the situation you are in and my immediate thought was to give your time, which can't be bought but is such a precious thing to give but you are probably giving that in abundance. We all like different things but we ladies usually enjoy a bit of pampering so with that in mind perhaps a session at a spa or if Mum is not able to go out then some therapists do home visits. A nice foot and hand massage can be so relaxing or a body massage if she is able for that. My thoughts are with you and hope you manage to find something right for Mum out of the suggestions made. • I have to agree with both Max and Kim that time is the best gift of all( not only for your Mum but for you too).  Whilst when my husband was much at the same stage as your Mum is now, he wanted a normal Christmas and we bought small gifts as always but my 'special gift' to him was a small canvas print of our children/grandchildren taken just a few months earlier.  It bought the best smile of the day. Enjoy your Christmas; every one is special.  Jules54
