desperately scared for my mum.

Hi

My mum was diagnosed 3 wks ago with secondary breast cancer spread to cervical spine in her neck. She had been going to her gp for months with the pain and no tests only physio until she could take it no longer and went to A and E. Then all hell kicked off with her admitted to a spinal unit and then to the cancer centre for radiotherapy to her neck. She was biopsied and is now in a neck brace with movement back again in her arm. We Have discovered that the cancer is not hormone positive and have to wait until 5th Jan for her appt with the breast oncologist. I am so frightened for her and my dad as I can't bear to lose her. She is 82 but ubtil this was an extremely healthy woman. Gp not hopeful but others say this can be treated. I want her to have as much life prolonging treatment as she can as long as she is willing and able. I am just so terrified!

  • Hi there

I am very sorry to hear this

Having a mum myself who has cancer I can imagine how it must feel. When life is going relatively normally, finding out something like this can turn everything upside down. Although you may hear this all the time, you have to stay strong for not only her, but also your dad.

    Also, how are you coping?
