Feeling lost

Hi

Feel overwhelmed. My dad had primary bowel cancer which was successfully removed in January, only to be told that the 'spot' on his liver (nothing to worry about) has now grown! The last meeting was to get scan results and then start a trial. We were informed that the tumor had grown and trial was no long suitable. Then told his prognosis was not good. We are left with unanswered questions - why didn't the treat the liver spot when the saw it? Then this horrid thing would not have grown?

They said - unlikely to be here in 6 months??????

How do we move forward? What can we expect?

  • Hello janet1,

    Welcome to Cancer Chat!

I can completely understand why you feel overwhelmed. It is hard when something like this happens not to think about what would have happened had things gone differently and I am so sorry to hear your dad's spot has grown when you were told it was nothing to worry about.

I hope you will find comfort in talking to others on this forum. I am sure many will be along soon and will use their own experience to share some tips with you on how you can move forward from this.

Our nurses' helpline is also only a free phone call away on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm should you have any question to ask them.

    Best wishes,
