Mum's terminal cancer

Hi all I'm 48 and my mum has got terminal lung cancer which after her biopsy is now spreading . She is 81 which is I know is a good age but with me being the only child having no brothers or sisters for support am finding it really hard . My mum has only a month or so to live and I'm losing my best friend too , but been told its only her body giving up not her soul which is quite comforting to a degree . Thank you all for taking the time to read this post

  • Hi Vince

I would like to welcome  you to the forum though sorry for the reason that brings you here. It is sad to watch those we love take a terminal journey with any cancer (my own experience was with my husband whose ife journey ended in January this year).  I hope you will find some support from this forum and post anytime you need to.  There are many who will relate to your post and even when we have family and friends to support us there are still times when you feel its is easier 'sharing' with virtual strangers.  I am so thankful that I found this place to share my feelings during my husband's illness/passing and am still very grateful to the buddies who offered support then and ongoing.  Hope your Mum is being kept comfortable and that you have access to good palliative care where you live. Looking after yourself will help you cope  and gain strength to be there for you Mum. Take care. Jules54
