My mum has recently been diagnosed with secondary cancer in the hip, primary is the kidney.  Hip removed and replaced 12th August. She is now back in hospital as its spread to the back left ribs.  She is current waiting for a removal of her kidney, can anyone tell me if this is necessary as it has already done the damage.  She is still recovering from a full hip replacement (6 weeks ago) and I don't think she could cope with going through another major operation. She is currently receiving no cancer treatments as it is expected that she will have the kidney removed.
