  • Hi Lisa

So sorry to see the reason that brings you to the forum but its a good place to share your feelings and hope other will be along shortly to offer their views.

From a personal viewpoint when I was caring for my husband it was his GP and the community nurses who acted on our behalf and once my husband told them he was ready for the bed downstairs it was delivered the following day (I live in Middlesex). You should not have to cope alone with these worries and perhaps a call to your Dad's GP or his palliative care team (does he have a nominated care worker?) could get you some support.  It is so very hard watching someone you love dearly trying to cope day to day and I am afraid sometimes it is necessary to 'nag' the appropriate people to get things done.

It may also help for you to call the nurses on this site for guidance. The number is on this page and they are available 9-5 mon to friday. (freephone from UK landlines). Take care  Jules 54
