  • Hi

Welcome to the forum but sad to read the reason that brings  you here.  I am sure others will be along to chat soon.  It can be difficult for family friends when dealing with incurable timescales as every patient is different.  My husband was terminally ill for nearly three years and can fully relate about the difficulty with planning ahead.  However in his final months we took on board advice from his consultant and palliative care team plus his wonderfully supportive GP and he chose to have 'care at home'.  This was provided by our community nurses as and when necessary and attendance was planned to fit in when I was out (I continued to work part time until his final week).  If  you would like to chat with one of the nurses on this site they can be reached on the telephone number on this page (free from UK landlines) mon to fri 9-5.

Come to the forum to offload any time as many here understand the feelings you and your Mum will be going through at this difficult time.  Jules54
