Hi everyone and i hope this can be seen as im at my wits end. 8 weeks ago my mum had scans as she was feeling unwell, the result of the scan showed she has lung cancer on both lungs, the consultant told us one tumor is larger than one lung and the other mum only has a third of u lung left , they said mu was too weak to have any treatment and said take her home and make her comfortable as she only has weeks not months to live. Anyway 10 weeks on and mum is still with us, she has lost lots of weight and looks very small, she oxygen whenever she walks more than 5 steps but she is still going well, she forgets waht day it is and stuff like that but its great and we are just enjoying the extra time with mum, lol its her birthday in 3 weeks wich seems unreal 10 weeks ago, it was all so mad , within days of mum coming home the district nurses and home hospice care kicked in delivering beds and comodes etc. Anyway what i need is some info on if there is any help with travel expenses to care for mum, i live in cornwall and mum lives in staffordshire, my sister lives at the house 5 days a week and i travel up tutuesdays wednesdays and thursdays to give my sister a break as she has a family too with 10 yr old son. Everything was going ok until a couple weeks ago and car broke down and cannot afford to get it fixed, train fares are enormous so if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be most helpfil. Thanks
