It seems so unfair

Hello people.

Firstly, let me apologise for any negativity.

Yesterday, I had a phonecall from one of my sisters asking me to collect my mum from her abusive husband and drive her to my other sisters' a good 3 1/2 hours drive away. Of course I agreed. I was so shocked to see my old mum suddenly looking so frail and weak, and I rang my sister to warn her of mums' appearance.

My sister is ill with MS, ME and Addisons desease yet she is determined to look after our mum. She has worked with the elderly, sick and dying so she knew straight away mum is nearing the end. I've driven back home and had little sleep. I'm angry at her husband, sad for my mum, and concerned for my sister as she is ill herself.

  • Hi

I am sad to read the reason for you being on the forum but hope there will be others along shortly to offer some virtual support.  With the difficulties the family are facing I hope your Mum can find some peacefulness with your sister  who, despite her own ailments, wishes to support her.  Worrying from a distance is difficult and the suddenness of it all has probably knocked you all for six.  I do hope, that over the coming days things will become a little more settled and am sure your sister can call on the support of local GP/social services for help with caring for you Mum.  This forum is a good place to offload your feelings and emotions and there is no need to apologise for saying how it is.  Many will understand the emotions you are dealing with just now.  Jules54
