Hi leabea, I'm not in the same boat as you but my daughter, now in her late 20s was treated for ALL between the ages of 10 and 12 years old. Its a very difficult time for you all. The constant watching for a rise in tempertaure, the backwards and forwards to the hosp for visits or in paitients stay seems never ending - This and the day to day running of family life just drain you emotionally - no let up for parents.
Its natural to be fearful, especially when exhaustion takes over but remember that the ourtcomes have really come on in leaps and bounds for this foorm of cancer over the last few years.
Hold on tight and take care, gardenlady.
Not at all, ask away. My daughter was borderline high risk and had 3 intensive treatments, preventitive radiotherapy, and 2 years maintenance. She was very ill for the 1st 6 weeks and quite poorly for 3 months and after the intensive treatments. BUT she made it. Treatment protocols have come on in leaps and bounds since then.
MRD is now normal for ALL and give the consultants a very good idea how hard to treat, and how an individual is responding to treatment.
This is a scary time for you all - waiting for results. I do hope they are good.
Take care, gardenlady.
