My mother seen her oncologist today. She was diagnosed with stage 3 NSC lung cancer June 2014. She also has COPD and uses oxygen 24/7. She had radiation on a small tumour on the right lung which kept the tumour from growing. After her appt today, the doc said the tumour has grown and her glands in the chest are swollen. Her low back and groin are in pain. They will do a bone scan to see if there is any cancer in the bone. She's lost her appetite taking pain meds. I know she is frightened. The doctors has not given her any time frame. They can radiate another area but not the lung. They did see a few spots on her liver. Do any of you out there have idea how long my mother may have. I wish they would do chemo but her lungs are too weak. Isn't their a chemo pill that might help? Would love someone to respond.
