My beautiful sister

My beautiful sister has just been diagnosed with a brain tumour, I’m absolutely destroyed for her, her husband and daughter. It’s terminal and we are only just starting to this journey with her.

  • Hi JoAC,

    Welcome to Cancer Chat.

I'm so sorry to hear about the situation with your sister. This must be so difficult to process - it sounds like you are very close to her.

Certainly don't feel guilty about letting the emotions out. It's important to do this, and there's no right way to feel or to express your emotion, so it's perfectly OK. It might be helpful to find outlets for this, if you feel you need to be holding it together around your sister. This could be other friends or family close to you, or other places such as this forum.

I'm not sure if you have all the information yet about potential next steps, but if not then I hope you can get this soon, and that this helps a little in terms of understanding what to expect.

If ever you'd like to talk things through with someone, you are more than welcome to give our nurses a call. You can reach them on freephone 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Hopefully you'll get some more replies to your post here soon.

We're always here for support whenever you may need it, even if it's just to write things down.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
