I'm sorry to hear that your Mum has been told she has vulval cancer. Undoubtedly, it will have been difficult to hear this news, especially as you don't live near her. 

You mention that your Mum hasn't had a scan or anything yet, so I presume that she is now waiting for more tests before the team can talk about treatment options with her. For many people, this period of waiting for answers and uncertainty can be very difficult. Hopefully she won't have to wait too long, and the team will be able to give you both some reassurance about the next steps. 

We have some information on our website about how to support someone with cancer that may be of interest to you. Please don't ever underestimate the value of listening and letting your Mum talk with you. It is a great help to be able to have that support from someone. I would also say that it will be a great help to your Mum to be able to keep your "normal" relationship as well. Life can feel very abnormal for many people when they are going through tests and treatment, and so having some normality with those around them can be hugely valuable. I'm sure that your Mum will want to continue hearing about what you've been up to and chatting about all the things that you have planned.
