Just worried: My husband has adenocarcinoma of the pancreas and had his first lot of Chemo on the 14th July

My husband has adenocarcinoma of the pancreas and has had his first lot of Chemo on the 14th July. He has had no reaction to it but today has been very tired and a temperature of 36.7 is this ok?

  • I'm sorry for the worry this is causing Delph but I hope I can offer some peace of mind by letting you know that tiredness is quite a common side effect of chemotherapy. There is a possibility your husband could get more fatigued as his treatment continues but I hope this information we have on how to cope with tiredness will help you find a way to manage this.

I've had a look on our website and I can see on this page we have about chemotherapy side effects that the temperature your husband had at the time you made your post was o.k. If at any point it goes over 37.5 or under 36 you will need to let your medical team know as soon as possible as it could be a sign of infection.

If it would help to talk any of this through with one of our cancer nurses, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all they can to help.

Hopefully some of our members will stop by soon to share their experiences and advice as well.

We're sending you both all our strength and support Delph, and wishing your husband all the best with the remainder of his treatment.

    Kind regards,
