Black Poo!

Himself said he had black poo.  Rang the number on his red card.  Lass said to go to the MAU.  Hours drive, triaged quite quickly, bloods taken, lovely nurses.

8 hours later, doctor called him in and asked exactly the same questions as the nurses and the lass on the red card number had.  Himself said was having difficulty hearing/making out what the doctor was saying.  Some mention of 'fingers up bum' to check gastro bleeding.  But as his cancer is right at the end of the rectum the finger wouldn't get very far!

Rightly or wrongly Himself said let's go home.  Doctor said bring him back if still black.  Apparently the poo is now normal colour.

Another hours drive back.

He understood from his conversation with the red card number that someone would be waiting for him when we got there.  How wrong he was.

I thought chemo patients had a bit of priority??

I've had a very stressful Sunday afternoon and have now got a humdinger of a headache!

Keep well folks.
