Son has been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour - I'm so worried for him.

My son has just been told he has brain cancer following a 1st MRI- we have waited 2 weeks since a 2nd profusion MRI for a clinical appt and they think this will start with surgery; so more waiting for that.  I am so worried for him. Any good news stories or hope will help but I know  no one can tell me the outcome.

  • Surgery took 95% and we were told went well but a week later last Tuesday we were told it was a  grade 3 astrocytoma and that Max may only have five years left to live. I am heartbroken for him. I cannot begin to comprehend how he is feeling and how he will adjust to such shocking news my husband and I are both really struggling but will be strong for him no matter what with him all the way he starts radiotherapy for six weeks soon and then chemotherapy for a year. My poor baby is only 26.

  • Oh I am so sorry to hear that. Poor Max and at such a young age. You and your husband seem to be incredible support for him and I am glad he has you by his side during this difficult time. I wanted to wish him the best of luck for the radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment.

The forum is always here for you at every step of his journey so don't hesitate to come here and write to us at any time.
