Cervical cancer stage 4

my mam just got diagnosed with cervical cancer stage 4, im very worried and dont know what to think or do

  • Hello gab24,

I just wanted to warmly welcome you to our forum. Nurse Naomi has given you very good advice in your other 'stage 4 cervical cancer' thread and don't hesitate to ring their helpline  to talk anything through with the nurses on this free number 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I am so sorry to hear that your mam has been diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer - it is completely understandable that you are very worried and also that you feel a little powerless not knowing what to think or do. There is no right or wrong way to act when a loved one has been diagnosed with advanced cancer and I am sure your mam really appreciates you simply being there for her, being a good listener and supporting her during this difficult time. You might be interested in reading our information for family, friends and carers which includes a section on how to support someone with cancer and which I hope you will find useful.

Our forum is always here for you if you ever feel like reaching out and talking to others who are in a similar place and I hope that you will hear from others on here who are feeling the same way as you at the moment and who may also be supporting a loved one with cancer. I will let them come and say hello and share their story with you. It does help sometimes to simply talk to someone else who truly understands what you are currently going through you and your mam.

    Best wishes,
