My best friend has brain cancer. I’m so gutted and miserable but she doesn’t want a friend like that..how do I progress as am not good at pretending.

Any ideas…maybe I’m just selfish but I have my own health related problems…can’t walk easily and have depression. It seems impossible to keep cheerf although that’s what is wanted..

  • Hello again Rosamund,

I just replied to your other post, but I noticed you were asking for advice on how you can support your best friend whilst looking after your own physical and mental health.

It can be very difficult to stay positive and cheery when supporting a loved one with cancer so please don't feel bad or guilty for the way you feel. I'm sure you will receive some support and advice from our members soon as so many of them will understand what you're going through, but I hope this information we have for family, friends and caregivers will help as well.

Be kind to yourself Rosamund and remember that we'll always be here to listen and support you.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
