Husband becoming so frail

My husband has been having cancer treatment for coming 5 years.  Began as colorectal then peritoneal and now in the pleura of left lung.     He’s had two massive surgeries and come back fighting but at 84 the chemo I can see is taking its toll.
he has a couple of days in the cycle when he’s hardly awake, can’t eat and is sometimes sick. But he continues to fight.   We know he’s now terminal but I say we’re ALL terminal.
I watch him when he’s sleeping and break my heart.

  • Hi Jimsmisses,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. This must be so difficult - I hope you are getting on as OK as can be as this must be a lot to deal with.

I wanted to send a reply to say we're always here for support if you need it, even if it's just to write things down. Hopefully you'll get more replies to your post from others on the forum soon.

You can also use the search bar from the homepage of Cancer Chat to find other relevant discussions and people to connect with, if you'd like to.

Hopefully you have some support around you, such as other family and friends. Keep looking after yourself too as much as you can. and if you find you're struggling too much then do reach out to others for support, such as Macmillan and Maggie's.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
