Mum has cancer-diagnosed with womb cancer in April then scan found suspicious nodules on peritoneum indicating recurrence of cancer. So worried about prognosis

Hi guys,

So back in April my Mum was diagnosed with womb cancer, they didn't do surgery as she previously had a stroke and they thought surgery would be too risky, she was given radiation therapy for 30 days.

they then did a scan to see whats going on, the doctor rang and said that there are suspicious nodules in the Peritoneum that could be a reccurance of cancer, I googled it (I know I shouldn't have done) and the statistics are awful.  I guess I just wanted some reassurance from people living with cancer that this isn't a death sentence. Love & light ️

  • Hello 1998_edwards

I'm sorry to hear that after going through treatment for womb cancer earlier this year, the specialists are now concerned about some nodules that have been seen on her most recent scan. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about what this might mean for her.

What have the specialists said about the next steps? Are they planning to do any further tests or discuss treatment options?

I wonder if you might find it helpful to talk things through with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. If you'd like to talk with them, they're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that you both have some clearer answers soon. Please keep in touch and let us know how you're getting on. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
