Fatigued by fatigue - It's been 3 months. How long will this continue?

It's nearly 3 months since my partner's last chemo for mantle cell lymphoma. How long might the fatigue continue?

  • Hi Maryselina,

I can imagine it's so frustrating to see that this fatigue is still very much present 3 months after your partner had their last chemotherapy for mantle cell lymphoma. We have a detailed section on our website on fatigue whether it is a symptom of the cancer itself or a side effect of treatment and you might be interested in reading our page on managing and treating cancer fatigue.

It's hard to know for sure how long your partner's fatigue might continue but it might be worth getting in touch with your partner's medical team who might have a clearer idea of the impact chemotherapy for mantle cell lymphoma might have had and how long it might take for the fatigue to diminish. They will also I am sure be able to give you solutions or suggestions to manage this fatigue.

I hope that things will get gradually better and if you ever needed to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, feel free to give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Other members of our community will have also struggled with fatigue as a result of cancer treatment or they will know a loved one who has been in a similar situation. I hope that they will be along shortly to share their personal stories and they may have tips based on what worked for them to help overcome this debilitating fatigue.

    Best wishes,
