Total nephrectomy in 9 days

Hello. My husband has been diagnosed with renal cancer. He is 62 and had been quite well ip to diagnosis. We were shocked at the wait time between diagnosis and surgery, but decided to use this time to get him in the best health possible for his surgery and recovery. He’s on pro and prebiotics, drinking more water, walking outside a lot (he is a delivery driver; excellent for fitness), I’m encouraging him to do some deep breathing every day. Can anyone suggest anything else we could do please? He has never smoked and rarely drinks alcohol.
Thank you

  • My husband went through a more radical procedure in may. He too is a delivery driver and relatively fit, but has been surprised how the anaesthetic has affected him; it seems to depend how long the procedure takes. 6 months on and he still struggle with everyday tasks but hopefully that will improve.

I hope all goes well for you both.,
