Oh the rollercoaster at the Cancer doesnt care theme park

Hi ya

To anyone new to this fff disease I am sorry you and your loved ones are going through this and

To those of you well versed in the roller coaster of treatments set backs triumphs and all the tears fears and frustration this

Cancer ride brings to you I say thank you for all your support sharing and caring

Its been rubbish in the RB camp but hubby has had a new oesophageal stent fitted and although his cancer is spreading Mr RB is determined he aint done yet.

So Im awake thinking okay I thought you was a gonna and you are still here ....let me pause while I can and regroup .....

New list of whats needed...before they turf him out the hospital ....and managing his expectations ( i cant shove him around in a wheel chair for example ) .....more smilingly assertive.....or being beeping annoying....

Strength to everyone who follows and to all of you lovely Cancer Chatters who have sent special messages thank you thank you thank you your kindness and love have sustained me and Im sending it right back to you ....may you have ease today and find joy in small things .....they are as you are precious

RB.

  • Hi Rhubarbdragon,

I am sorry to hear of all that you are both going through and hope that things are a little easier for hubby now that he's had his new stent fitted. If you can't shove him around in a wheel chair, have you considered a mobility scooter. You can hire them by the hour or day in many shopping malls to try it out first. Both hubby and I use one and it's kept our independence for much longer than we would have done so otherwise.

  • Hi Jolanine

Thank you for your kind words and top tip re mobility scooters/ try before you buy ..

It would be great to get him out and about so will def look into whats available near us.

I hope you both have your best day

    Kind wishes RB

  • Hi RB

Its good to hear your news especially that your husband after all he has been through has still got that attitude that hes got more life in him yet and is preparing to come home. In no small part due to having a loving and caring wife at his side. I hope you can find moments of joy in the midst of what this awful disease can bring. Mrs Ed and I get through it all with some black humour and an appreciation of the everyday small things. I hope you can get some help with the practical side of getting your husband home.

    Ed

  • Hello Ed

Yes I too have a "black" sense of humour and seek out comic relieve to help me get through the days.

Its a stark contrast to a last weekend

MrRB is progressing with liquid diet onto soft foods ice cream etc....

All being well and if the discharge team get act together he will be home soon.

Meantime I am enjoying some down time with the family hounds and catching up on some rest.

I hope you and Mrs Ed have a peaceful weekend ( and longer).

You are a star Ed shining your light into the darkness

    Thank you so much

    Kind wishes RB
