Taking my mum on holiday to fuerteventura (secondary bone cancer)

Hi, my mum has secondary bone cancer (primary renal 2017)

she has had 3 years of immunotherapy and is now on a drug regime.

we are hoping she can join us on holiday in fuerteventura in August. Does anyone have any experience of cancer patients in the canaries?
we would only go if she can get insurance and her oncologist allows.
but I’m just trying to plan in case we need medical assistance while we are away.

thanks a lot

  • Hello Berniejax and welcome to the forum.

A holiday in Fuerteventura sounds lovely. I really do hope your mum will be able to go with you.

Hopefully some of our members who have travelled with family members who have advanced cancer will stop by soon to share their experiences and advice but in the meantime I just wanted to share some information we have about getting travel insurance on our website.

It may be worth having a look at some of the recent discussions that have been made about travel insurance in the Money, Work & Travel section of our forum, as a lot of good information and advice has shared by our members over there.

I hope you find this useful and that your mum's oncologist will give her the green light to join you on your travels.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
