After care from complete lymph removal for breast cancer. How can I best support my mum in her recovery?

Hi all,

I am trying to get prepared for helping my mum after what will be her third operation in her battle against breath cancer. She has a complete lymph removal (armpit) due next month and I am asking for advice on how to support her best in her recovery. What equipment is useful? I have heard about v pillows and these heart pillows. Is there any other advice on bits to get? Thank you

  • A very warm welcome to the forum Kitkatt although I'm sorry to hear your mum will be having another operation soon.

I hope this information about the lymph node removal your mum will be having and what happens after surgery will be useful but hopefully some of our members who have had this done will stop by soon to share their tips and advice.

We also have a team of cancer nurses you can discuss this with on 0808 800 4040. Their helpline is open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to answer your questions and advise you on other ways you can support you mum.

I hope this helps and all goes well with your mum's surgery and recovery next month.

    Kind regards,
