Wife of a husband with brain tumour

Hi my husband was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour after being ill over a month. Everything happened so quick and now he’s on the stage of having chemo next week to extend his life a little bit. He said he will do try everything to extend his life so he can spend time with us bless him. I just can’t imagine without him. We have a 14 month old daughter our miracle angel. We have been together for 17 years and now suddenly this happened I’m still in shock and hoping that I’m just dreaming that when I wake up it’s not true but it is. I tried to show him that I’m strong so he will not worry about us but sometimes I just break down. Hoping he will be okay when his chemo starts next week. I’ve read about it and maybe you can share your experience about your love one who had this treatment before . Thanks

  • Hello Yams

I'm so very sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis. Undoubtedly this is a very difficult time for you both and I hope you have friends and family around you that can offer support as your husband begins his treatment next week.

I'm hoping that members here in Cancer Chat who have experiences and words of support they can share will reply but I also wanted to suggest reaching out to The Brain Tumour Charity

Here at Cancer Research UK we have a team of specialist nurses that you can call to talk things through with as well. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040. It's also worth having a look to see if there is a Maggie's (or similar organisation) in your local area where you can both access support as you navigate this difficult time.

Keep in touch with us Yams. Let us know how things go next week and how you're both coping. We're here for you.

Sending you both my best wishes,
