Lung Cancer - diagnosis less than a week

I have a parent who has lost a lot of weight in the last 3 weeks, on Tuesday he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer, since then he has deteriorated, he is not eating, staying in his bed and is unable to remain seated when he does get up.

He has been given 5mg of morphine to take 4 times a day,  but appears to be seeing things and hullacintaing. My mother is trying to support him the best she can but is finding it a challenge.

Should I contact NHS for hospitalisation?

I’ve spent the weekend with him, but have had to return home. They have a doctors appt in the morning, I’m at a loss to know what to do. Breaking my heart!

  • My husband was diagnosed with bowel and secondary lung cancer 10days ago with hardly no symptoms, since finding out he has also staying in bed walking got really bad ,sleeping a lot ,no appetite it seems the symptoms are expected to fit the disease,we are waiting to see a specialist, but my heart goes out to your mum ,l understand how she feels ,you feel so helpless,
