Mam's Secondary Cancer

We have been told that my Mam's cancer has come back and this time she has tumours in her stomach, on her liver, spleen and colon.  Due to where the tumours are, surgery is not an option.  She is due to begin palliative chemotherapy this week.  I am really struggling to come to terms with what is going on and I'm frightened as to what is to come.  My Mam has the PALB2 gene which means the cancer is extremely aggressive and fast progressing.  I also have the gene and I'm waiting for preventative surgery, but I really just want to concentrate on my Mam and ensure I am well enough for her.  Has anyone else been in this position and have any advice please?  Many thanks xx
