My 76 years old husband has been diagnosed with throat cancer. He had laryngeal cancer in 2007, which was completely cured by radiotherapy. Now, he has secondary cancer in the pharynx after 18 years. We were told by the oncologists that it is not curable but treatable, to reduce the tumour and improve his quality of life. His treatment will be a combo of palliative radiotherapy followed by immunotherapy. We are still waiting for the treatment to begin. In the meantime, he has swallow problems, so his diet is all soft foods. He does have to throw out a lot of thick mucus throughout the day. At night, he often coughs a lot. So i apply Vicks Vaporub on his chest, back and on the soles of his feet. i put socks for him after the Vicks application. This does help a lot to control his cough and he sleeps soundly after that. He takes a capsule of Turmeric ( Holland and Barett) everyday with his breakfast and I think, it helps too. Steam inhalation and Honitos Cough syrup ( Ayurvedic) also helps. I do hope, these tips will be useful for you. Take care
