You are such a thoughtful friend! I hope that your friend's surgery goes well and it's so nice of you to think of the little things that actually matter a lot. No doubt those elasticated PJs were really uncomfortable for your friend to wear when recovering from surgery and were irritating her scars and your idea of getting her non elasticated PJs that would not cause this irritation is a great one and I am sure she will really appreciate your kindness. Now the real challenge is finding those PJs! You are right that if her house gets chilly especially in these cold winter days, long PJs would be preferable to a nighty.
