My Wife's MRI Results - Asked to bring someone with her

Hi,

My wife has recently been diagnosed with Breast cancer and we are in the process of starting her treatment. She had her MRI scan last Wednesday and today she had a call asking her to come in to discuss the results this Wednesday and to bring a friend (me) with her.

I understand you're damned if you do and damned if you don't, and we would be complaining if we had to wait the 12 weeks the person in the reception of the MRI department was suggesting, however, I am wondering, is this just the NHS being super efficient or should we be worried?

  • Welcome to the forum Hollis94 although I'm sorry to hear your wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer and that you're worried about how quickly she's getting her MRI results.

I can see from your post that you'll be getting the results today so I just wanted to wish you both the very best of luck and let you know we'll be thinking of you. I hope your wife receives good news but if either of you have any questions or concerns you'd like to discuss with one of our cancer nurses after the appointment, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all that they can to help.

This must be a very difficult and scary time for you both, but our community are here for you Hollis94 and I'm sure some of our members will be along soon to share their experiences and advice.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
