  • Hello Cordyj

I'm sorry to hear that your mother-in-law has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. It's understandably a difficult time for you all at the moment.

Has your Mum been referred to a palliative care team or local hospice? I'd suggest getting in touch with them to ask about accessing equipment. You can also contact her GP surgery for a possible referral to the community occupational therapy service as well as contact the local Social Services team via her council service. They should be able to signpost you or help with organising the appropriate services to come out and visit.

Sometimes charity shops also have second-hand aides and equipment available at a fraction of the cost of purchasing something new so if you're in a position to do that then it's also another option to consider.

Hopefully, you can source the equipment you need to support your mother-in-law soon.

    Best wishes,
