4 month wait for diagnosis - inconclusive results?

family membe kept this a secret from me but has been waiting 120 days for a diagnosis - due to nhs admin errors and delays and now an inconclusive result

i know this isn’t normal but i feel powerless. 

they say they cant get a private test as nhs trust may not accept private diagnosis (they previously would not accept a private test result for another problem) and they would use nhs for treatment 

This has come out of the blue and is ongoing - what can be done? I’m so confused and concerned

    I'm sorry to hear that your family member has been dealing with such a difficult situation over the past few months. It's understandable that you're confused and concerned about their situation. 

    If your family member is happy to give you permission to act on their behalf then I would suggest contacting the hospital PALS team in the first instance. It's part of their role to help resolve concerns or problems when you're using the NHS.
