I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's diagnosis. Undoubtedly this will have been an incredibly difficult time for you all and it's natural that you may have felt overwhelmed by thoughts and emotions at times. 

I can see that you've been chatting with other members on another thread and I hope that you've found support in those conversations. 

I wanted to let you know that if you think it may be helpful to chat with one of our nurses at any point I know they will be happy to offer you any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040. 

Try to keep a positive mindset Shaz-k. Hopefully the treatments that your daughter has been offered will bring some positive news and help stabilise her health. 

Keep in touch if it helps to have a safe space to put down in writing how you're feeling or to ask any questions. We're here for you.

Thank-you so much  It's a horrible journey and I've gt to admit...I am struggling   There's times I feel as though I can't do it anymore, because it's breaking my heart seeing my girl like this   I feel as though it's a lonely journey for which I know it isn't, but I'm that person who laughs on the outside, while my heart is breaking in the inside   We've gt scan this month and I'm absolutely terrified of the results! Chelsea's dad has never been to any appointments, that's his way of dealing with it. I'm her mum though and I wouldn't be anyw re else but it's so hard dealing with it on ur own

I know that many people here in the Cancer Chat community will understand the struggles that you've shared. Hopefully the scan later this month will bring some positive news for you all. 

I hope that you have the support of friends around you to help lift and give you strength as you support Chelsea. There are some charities such as Maggies that offer support to family and friends of those living with cancer. You can also speak with your GP surgery to see if there are other support options available in your local area. 

As I said, we're here for you so keep in touch Shaz-k and let us know how you're all managing.

I’m really sorry to hear about your daughter. I was diagnosed 2 yrs ago this month with stage 4 breast cancer that as spread to my lymph nodes and spine. I had chemotherapy for 18 weeks and I now have a targeted therapy called phesgo. It’s an awful shock at first but once your daughter has her treatment plan in place you do start to feel more in control. My oncology team have told me to think of breast cancer like more of a chronic illness because the treatments these days are amazing! Some ladies at my hospital have been going over ten yrs with same diagnosis. Hope this helps take care Lindsay x x x 

Thank-you so much.Hope ur well as can be and sending big hugs. My daughter is also on phesgo injections every 3 weeks and hormone injections and tablets for her to go through the menopause, as her cancer feeds from estrogen. We just try stay positive now xx
