Mum has been diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer

My mum has recently been diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer, it has spread to her liver and she has a blood clot in her lung.  She has gone from strong healthy, independent lady to one who can’t eat and is deteriorating so incredibly fast. She is becoming weaker and weaker at an increasingly alarming rate

  • Hello ZoeR

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum's recent diagnosis. It's difficult to watch a loved one decline so quickly and I can understand that this is a difficult time for you both.

Does your mum have support from the local palliative team? Do lean on them for advice and help if your Mum, or you, need it. If she doesn't already have contact with them then get in touch with her GP who can organise a referral to them.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch Zoe and let us know how you're both managing.

    Best wishes,

  • I'm glad to hear you have support in place, Zoe. Don't be afraid to ask for support and lean on them over the coming days and weeks.

I thinking of you both and sending my best wishes.
