Child going through relapsed ALL

Hi All.

My child was 7 when he was diagnosed with acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in 2018. He went through 3.5 years of chemotherapy and ended treatment in 2022. With just a 2% chance of relapse we went on with our lives. Fast forward to Jan 2023 and symptoms come up, by the 28th Feb 2023 we had found out he had relapsed.

Hes currently undergoing chemotherapy and had immunotherapy again.

Ive recently found a lump in my breast and am awaiting my appointment at the breast clinic next Tuesday. Given all we have been through and going through, i cant help but fear the worst.

Anyway, ive found myself here.......just for the want to get things of my chest.... through past experience I've got one side telling me its not cancerous its fine your imagination is running wild but the other side is telling me look what happened with your child twice...!

Our life has been nothing but cancer for nearly 6, years this December!

My poor boy has had it twice at the age of 12!

Dont really know what the point of the post is just a rant to get things of my chest really....x

  • A very warm welcome to the Cancer Chat community Tloular89 although I'm so sorry to read about everything you and your son have been through.

It sounds like it has been incredibly tough, and with your son going through treatment once more it's completely understandable, and natural, to be worried about the breast lump you've found.

Hopefully some of our members will be along soon to share their experiences and advice, but if you would like to talk any of this through with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday (except bank holidays) between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're really easy to talk to and will do all they can to support you whilst you wait.

We're thinking of you Tloular89 and wishing you all the best for next week. We'll have our fingers crossed for a good outcome.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
