Stage 4 cancer

Wondering if someone can advise

my dads has stage 4 lung cancer .He has had palliative chemotherapy , he’s had 4 rounds. After round 1&2 the tumour shrank , after round 3&4 it has stayed the same.
We have now been referred back to chest clinic were we are told he will have regular chest X-rays to monitor him.
can anyone tell me how often these are done ?
Thanks in advance

  • Hi Rose and welcome to the forum.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad but I'm glad the chemo is managing to keep his cancer under control.

Hopefully some of our members who have experience of this will get back to you soon but if you'd like to speak with one of our cancer nurses about this, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very easy to talk to and will do all they can to answer your questions about this and anything else you may be unsure of at this time.

We're thinking of you Rose and sending all our support your way.

    Kind regards,
