There's nothing harder really than seeing a little one so young diagnosed with cancer - it seems unbelievably unfair and as adults wanting to protect the little ones, we can feel totally powerless. One great resource I wanted to let you know about is our information page on Wilms Tumour (also called nephroblastoma) and in there you will see that there is a page on Coping with Wilms Tumour with a list of organisations that can help which you could get in touch with. 

There was a member over a year ago Prayingforamiracle who came on the forum whose 5 year old little one had just been diagnosed with Wilms Tumours on both kidneys.  I am not sure how they are doing a year on, but feel free to read their Wilms Tumour diagnosis thread and to post a response if you would like to share your story and connect with another family who has been through this before. 

Our cancer nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm if you would like to get in touch with them and ask them any questions you might have.

My son was diagnosed last year with stage 4 bilateral Wilms and went through two cycles of chemo, surgery twice and radiotherapy. He has just finished his treatment in May so has his first post treatment scans later this month so we can see if he will get the all clear. Compared to last year, he is doing so much better. He has gained weight, looks healthier and generally a lot better

Im so sorry to hear about your Godson, it is the most traumatic and devastating thing to go through! Whatever family can do for the parents - leaving meals, checking in with them often, help with babysitting etc would really help. I unfortunately didn’t have any help but these are the things that would have really helped me. 

I am so sorry to hear about your son but pleased that he has made progress and praying for clear results later this month.

so sorry to hear about your daughter, my godson has just had surgery and now begins his chemo schedule which is very intensive but the cancer is treatable which we are taking as a blessing.
