bladder cancer treatments

My dad has stage 3 muscle invasive bladder cancer. He has been recommended to him that he has a cystectomy (bladder removal). This is on the provision that he passes a stress test (the treadmill test to see if his heart and lungs are strong enough). I feel this won't be a problem as his health is ok. But if it is an issue, what is likely to happen next if he is deemed not fit enough for the operation?

    I think his medical team would be the best people to ask about this as they are directly involved with your dad's care, but you're very welcome to have a chat about this with one of our cancer nurses as well.     Hopefully some of our members will be along soon to share their experiences and advice but in the meantime, we're thinking of you kitty and wishing your dad all the best with the stress test when the time comes.
